Recipe #4 For the Dog Days of Summer

Here is recipe number 4 for our Dog Days of Summer recipe challenge. This recipe is a great addition to help your pup cool off during these hot lingering days of summer!

What you will need:
-Plain Yogurt
-Spoon
-Butter knife or angled spatula
-Ice Cube Tray

This one is super easy. All you need is some plain yogurt and you are in business! So, get you spoon, stir around your yogurt and put a spoonful of yogurt into each shape. I chose these cute summer shapes to make it a little more festive but you can use the cubes if you like.

Next, shake the tray and tap it lightly on the counter to let all the yogurt settle into the shapes and to get rid of all the air bubbles.

Once you do this you may find that some shapes need a little more yogurt in them.

Now, get your butter knife or your angled spatula and scrape off the extra yogurt.

Once that is done you can pop them into the freezer for a few hours and let them firm up. Once frozen, they come out looking like this.

You can store them in the ice tray if you like, but if you are limited on space in your freezer like me you can put them in a zip lock until your pups are ready for more. Store these in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Enjoy yall! I hope your pups love them as much as mine. You can also try adding strawberry, blueberry or even watermelon. Make sure to mix fresh fruit into the yogurt and not purchase already flavored yogurt from the store. Artificial sugars are NOT good for dogs.

Note: Like all things, too much of a good thing is never good. Please keep in mind that these are treats and should be given sparingly to avoid stomach upset.
